PLEASE HELP IDENTIFY THIS "CARRIER" LURE

Cool lure, seems very old. Paw Paw type lip says "Carrier" 66 or 56 or GG on side. Anything would be appreciated. THANK YOU

Your lure was made by Kiraku & Co, a Japanese lure making company who exported lures into the American market after WWII. They made dozens of styles of lures emulating designs popular at the time. I have seen them misidentified in a number of publications including White's (he calls them Staley-Johnson, they are not). Here are a few others...
