Hello NFLCC Members!
Matt Martin, NFLCC Member here in Lancaster, CA.
I have just recently been appointed, and hoping to be Board of Directors approved, “interim” Vice President (VP) for the NFLCC Region 10.
Hopefully, I will be elected VP, by the next Regional Election.
I just wanted to let you all know, what a privilege it is for me to be involved with the NFLCC, and to be considered for a position on the Board.
At the last NFLCC Show in Bakersfield, CA, I knew this is where I needed to invest my heart and mind, as I near my retirement years (2020), closing my health care career as an Instructor, and entering new and exciting adventures in my life!
However, I will have to say, If it wasn’t for the truly genuine people who I met over the past couple years within the NFLCC, I wouldn’t be here writing to you now. George Chrisman, Glen Brewton, Tony Allegra, Steve Ellis, John Elder and Al Gomez, just to name a few. Thank you! I have learned a great deal about this fantastic hobby but even more, about the great people who are in it.
A little bit about myself:
I am 56 years old and married to my best friend Lizzy, who supports me in everything I do, and who always lights up a room with her bubbly happy nature.
I am an outdoorsman, an avid angler, Flyfisherman for the past 35 Years now. My father, John Martin, was the best fisherman I ever knew, and he is the reason why I am now a vintage tackle collector. Actually, I only started collecting just over three years ago, when I found an old lure that was my Dad’s “number one” go to bait. It was a Glass Eye, “Shaded Eye” RH, Bass Oreno. After that, one thing led to another, when I decided to recreate my Dad’s tackle box that I remembered so vividly from my childhood. Now, I have within my main collection, a moderate size of very nice SOS Lures, Surf Orenos and Bass Orenos. I would like to thank George Chrisman for helping me with my Surf Oreno and Bass Oreno Collection and introducing me to the NFLCC.
This has become a major passion in my life. I learn something new everyday and I love sharing this great hobby of lure collecting and preservation with others.
I’m looking forward to seeing you all, and talking more about our passion of lure collecting, and how we can ensure that this great National Hobby continues for generations to come...
Within the NFLCC, it’s the bonds created with one another that are invaluable.
Matt Martin, NFLCC.
